Its Months fresco cycle (circa 1400) in the Torre Aquila represents a peak of International Gothic painting, depicting Alpine peasants' labours and days beneath the sky of the seasons.

Piazza Duomo, the medieval heart of Trento, hosted between 1545 and 1563 the Council of Trent, a major event of the Catholic Counter-Reformation.
