Terms of Service

Last updated: August 16, 2026

Preamble

These Terms of Service govern sales made through the website ownstarmap.fr and the OwnStarMap iOS mobile app, published by ROCKETDEV, sole proprietor, SIRET 890 214 380 00028, 14160 Dives-sur-Mer, France. Placing an order implies acceptance of the Terms applicable at checkout.

Article 1 — Purpose

These Terms define the parties' rights and obligations for personalized star maps sold through the OwnStarMap website and iOS mobile app.

Article 2 — Products and services

OwnStarMap offers the following products:

  • Digital product: high-resolution PDF of a personalized star map in the selected format. On the website it is available after payment confirmation; in the iOS app Apple IAP unlocks the PDF for the selected card.
  • Physical products: personalized posters printed on premium photo paper in the selected format and phone cases made for the phone model selected during ordering, prepared by an external production or supply partner.
  • Only the options and format shown in the current checkout are included in the order.

Each star map is generated according to the customer's specifications (location, date, time, style, custom text).

Article 3 — Prices

Commercial base values are managed in euros. The final amount and currency shown by the applicable Apple or Stripe checkout before confirmation are authoritative.

  • Digital product: the applicable amount is shown in the relevant checkout before confirmation.
  • Physical product: the selected format or phone model and applicable amount are shown before confirmation.
  • Any delivery charge included in or added to a physical order is shown before payment.
  • Taxes or customs duties may apply according to the destination.
  • Physical delivery is available only to destinations accepted during ordering.
  • No option is included unless it appears in the selected checkout configuration.

Prices and presentation currencies may change. The total shown by Apple or Stripe before confirmation applies to the order.

Article 4 — Order and payment

Website payments are processed by Stripe. In the iOS mobile app, DIGITAL is purchased through Apple In-App Purchase using StoreKit, while a physical product order uses Stripe AddressSheet for shipping details and Stripe PaymentSheet for card payment. An order is confirmed only after the applicable provider confirms payment.

A DIGITAL purchase in the iOS app can start as a guest: an anonymous Better Auth principal is created just in time to secure the card and purchase. Linking that guest purchase to an email account later for recovery is optional; no visible account or sign-in is required before purchase.

Article 5 — Delivery

Digital product

The selected-format PDF is made available after the applicable payment confirmation. In the iOS app the unlock belongs to the selected card. No fixed access duration or download count is promised.

Physical products

Personalized posters and phone cases normally take 3–5 business days to prepare. Transit after dispatch generally takes about 7–10 business days depending on destination, carrier and local controls. Allow roughly 10–15 business days overall; delays can occur.

Article 6 — Right of withdrawal

Mandatory withdrawal and conformity rights apply according to the product, checkout consent and applicable law.

Personalized digital files (PDFs) are digital content supplied without a tangible medium. Personalization alone is not sufficient to remove the right of withdrawal. Under Article L221-28(13) of the French Consumer Code, performance may begin before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period only with the customer’s express consent to immediate performance and acknowledgement of losing that right when performance begins. A separate checkbox records both declarations before file access, and the order confirmation preserves the evidence. Once performance begins under these conditions, withdrawal solely for a change of mind is no longer available. Mandatory remedies for access, technical or conformity defects remain available.

Personalized physical products cannot be returned solely for a change of mind. This does not remove mandatory rights for defects or lack of conformity.

For a non-conforming physical product, the customer may request repair or replacement, without charge and within 30 days where the statutory rules apply. A price reduction or refund is available only in the cases provided by law.

Deleting an account after the digital service has been supplied or a physical product delivered does not automatically request or trigger a refund. Apple handles App Store refund requests for iOS DIGITAL purchases; other support, correction, replacement or refund requests are handled separately. Account deletion never removes mandatory rights of withdrawal, conformity or reimbursement that apply by law.

Article 7 — Legal guarantee of conformity

In accordance with articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity. In the event of a conformity defect, the customer may request repair or replacement of the product under the conditions provided by law.

Article 8 — Liability

ROCKETDEV commits to providing star maps based on the astronomical data and customer parameters described in the product. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded; any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Article 9 — Personal data

Personal data collected through the website or iOS mobile app is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at ownstarmap.fr/privacy.

Article 10 — Dispute mediation

After first sending a written complaint to [email protected], an eligible consumer may use the consumer mediation service free of charge. The mediator identified by ROCKETDEV is the Centre de Médiation et d'Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP), 39 avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt, 75008 Paris — cmap.fr.

Article 11 — Applicable law

These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or jurisdiction rights granted by the law applicable in their country of residence.
