Nicosia's Venetian Walls are a circular fortification spanning 4.5 kilometres in perimeter, built between 1567 and 1570 by engineers of the Republic of Venice to protect the city against Ottoman advance. Featuring eleven star-shaped bastions and three monumental gates (Famagusta, Paphos, and Kyrenia), they form a perfectly circular plan visible from space. Büyük Han

Büyük Han (Great Inn) is Cyprus's largest caravanserai, built in 1572 by the Ottomans shortly after their conquest of the island.
