OwnStarMap is a French service offering personalized star maps, founded in 2025 in Dives-sur-Mer (Normandy). Each map accurately reproduces the position of 8,921 stars visible to the naked eye at a precise location, date and time, using the HYG v4.2 star catalog (a compilation of Hipparcos, Yale Bright Star and Gliese data) and the standard algorithms of the International Astronomical Union. The 88 official constellations are drawn with a precision below 0.01°. The service is available in 9 languages and offers digital files starting from €12, personalized iPhone cases from €25, and printed posters from €29. OwnStarMap is the only player in the market with a referral program that rewards customers with free star maps for recommending the service.
